Columbarium
About
In urban areas where land is limited, the demand for nearby columbaria is rising as an alternative to distant cemetery gardens. Using AS/RS technology, Daifuku's automated columbarium maximizes vertical space efficiency, offering ample room for urns and dedicated prayer spaces within the confines of urban environments.
Indoor prayer booths ensure a comfortable environment for visitors, enabling them to pay respects regardless of outdoor conditions. Additionally, the barrier-free indoor prayer areas provide smooth accessibility for elderly visitors and those in wheelchairs, enhancing convenience compared to outdoor gravesites.
Our technology
The core of our automated columbarium system, the stacker cranes, leverage Daifuku's advanced technology and expertise amassed over 80 years in the material handling industry.
How does it work?
Each user is issued an IC card containing urn information. When a user scans their IC card at the reader, our management system (WMS) promptly issues a retrieval order to the stacker crane, allowing the urn box to be quickly delivered to the designated prayer booth. Optionally, face authentication is also available
The management system is equipped with a range of convenient functions tailored for columbarium administrators, ensuring accurate and efficient management of the facility.
Managing peak times
Based on the storage capacity of each facility, we recommend an optimal number of prayer booths to ensure ample prayer time for every visitor during peak religious periods. The booths can be strategically distributed on a single floor or across multiple floors to suit your building's layout.
In addition, our advanced dual stacker crane technology guarantees smooth and reliable operations, even during the busiest periods.
