SCG Nichirei Logistics

Expanding Cold Chain Infrastructure in Thailand

Mobile Rack in Cold Warehouse

SCG Nichirei Logistics Co., Ltd. is a joint venture established in 2013 between Japan’s Nichirei Logistics Group and Thailand’s SCG Logistics, a subsidiary of Siam Cement Group. The company operates cold chain logistics centers in the eastern suburbs of Bangkok, providing temperature-controlled storage and transportation services primarily for the food industry.

Meeting Thailand’s Rising Cold Chain Demands

As part of its strategic growth initiative, SCG Nichirei Logistics identified an opportunity to expand its service capabilities in response to increasing demand for cold chain logistics in Thailand. The company aimed to enhance its ability to support food manufacturers and distributors by offering more advanced and flexible storage solutions.

Recognizing the need for greater freezing capacity and more specialized temperature control, SCG Nichirei Logistics sought to upgrade its infrastructure to accommodate a wider range of products and customer requirements.

High-Efficiency Cold Logistics Hub

In 2025, SCG Nichirei Logistics established a new distribution center at the Nava Nakorn Industrial Zone, located north of Bangkok, in order to increase delivery efficiency to Bangkok and other areas and to capture new demand for storage and transportation to Ayutthaya and other northern cities.

Strategically located near key food production areas, the facility features a Mobile Rack system with a capacity of 16,310 pallets, enabling high-density storage. This system optimizes space utilization while improving inventory accessibility and operational flexibility, making it ideal for diverse temperature-sensitive goods.

The center supports three temperature zones—frozen, chilled, and ambient—and is equipped to manage specialized temperature settings. It also features three rapid freezing rooms with double the previous capacity, thawing rooms, and processing areas for value-added logistics services, ensuring comprehensive support for customer needs.

Boosting Efficiency & Trust Through Innovation

Thanks to the Mobile Rack system, the new facility has greatly enhanced in-warehouse efficiency by optimizing space and streamlining inventory handling. The investment in advanced infrastructure and sustainable technologies has strengthened SCG Nichirei Logistics’ environmental credentials and customer trust. With expanded capabilities, the company is well-positioned for continued growth and broader service coverage across Thailand.
