Overview

TNT is one of Asia Pacific’s leading providers of transport and logistics, supporting over 1,000,000 deliveries around the globe daily.

The Sydney facility was the first of three super hubs in Australia where Daifuku Oceania supplied and installed major high speed sorting systems.

TNT selected Daifuku Oceania to support this strategic project with state-of-the-art parcel handling and sorting technologies.

This project uses a combination of Daifuku Oceania’s specialised software products such as Freightflow and Sym3 to provide TNT maximum visibility of its operations.

Solution

The solution allows TNT to reduce processing times with increased accuracy.

• Over 130 chutes
• More than 50 trailer positions
• Nine high-speed inline check weighers
• Three camera-based barcode scanners with dimensioners to capture all check weigh cube data
• High-speed parcel singulator to allow 3D induction of freight to be processed across the crossbelt sorter.

Result

The solution allows TNT to maintain its strong competitive edge by reducing processing times with increased accuracy, providing the capability to sort up to 25,000 parcels per hour.

The Sydney project was the first within the TNT program, including additional installations across their Melbourne and Brisbane sorting centres.
