Vega Conveyors and Automation to Expand its Production Capacity
Osaka, Japan – Daifuku Co., Ltd. is pleased to announce its plans to construct a new manufacturing plant in Hyderabad, Telangana, India, at its subsidiary Vega Conveyors and Automation Private Limited (Vega).
In recent years, India’s swift economic growth has led to rapid expansion in the country’s market. A current boom in construction projects has prompted a growing number of orders from building material companies and other manufacturers.
On December 13th, Vega entered into a memorandum of understanding with the government of Telangana for the purchase of land on which it will construct the new manufacturing plant. An initial investment of 2 billion rupees is planned for the construction of the facility, with further expansion expected in the future. The new plant is forecasted to begin operation in 2024, it will produce automated warehouses, rail-guided vehicle systems, conveyors, sorters, and more. The new plant is expected to quadruple Vega’s production capacity.

The Indian economy is the fastest growing economy in the world, and Daifuku expects the intralogistics automation market to continue to expand rapidly. We plan to employ 250 new workers to maximize the production capabilities of the new plant.
