Vertical Carousel
Daifuku's vertical carousel is an automated rotary storage system that makes effective use of vertical space. Compared to fixed racks, the vertical carousel can store large volumes of items in a smaller footprint. It is also an ergonomic solution – it removes the need for workers to move around the facility to find items and lets them perform pick operations from a pick window set at an ideal height. As another benefit, the system is surrounded by lockable panels, which offer increased security and protect stored items from dust.

Operation panel
With the push of a button, the desired shelf is brought right in front of you. The ergonomic height of the pick window facilitates easier working. -
LED lights
LED lights at the pick window entrance ensure that shelves are well lit and easy to work with. -
WMS connectivity
Connecting the system with a warehouse management system (WMS) will provide even greater inventory control.
Safety features

Emergency stop button
Immediately stops the system when pressed. -
Overhang sensors
If there is overhang of stored items, sensors recognize that and stop the system to prevent any damage. -
Area sensors
If a workers puts their hand into the system when it is moving, sensors will detect that and automatically stop the system. -
Shutter interlocks
Locks the shelves so that they will not rotate unless the pick window shutter is closed. This is useful when two pick windows are provided or when more safety is required.

Getting the right configuration

Single-sided
One pick window on a single side of the system. -
Two-sided
Two pick windows – one on each side. -
Multi-level
Installing pick windows on two levels or floors provides the carousel with both storage and elevator functions.
- *For two-sided and multi-level systems, only one pick window can be used at one time. If you require multiple points that can be used simultaneously, we recommend our mini load AS/RS.
Storage shelf options

Single-tier
Used in a wide range of industries such as medical, food, and machinery. Ideal for the storage of items held in containers, including plastic containers and sterilization containers. -
Single-tier with dividers
Can store documents directly on the shelves without the need for trays or containers. Dividers locations can be adjusted at a pitch of 75 mm. -
Two-tiered
One shelf has two tiers. Ideal for high-density storage of small, lightweight electronic components. Each tier can hold up to 150 kg. -
Tooling storage shelves
Shelves dedicated to the storage of UT-30, UT-40 and UT-50 tooling attachments and components.
Sanitation control - hospitals, hotels, and related facilities
When storing items that require a clean environment, such as tableware, medical instruments, and sterilized containers, the carousel's main body panels, shelves, and tables can be made of stainless steel, which is well suited to such conditions. Also, the system can be equipped with a sterilization light to prevent the growth of bacteria on stored items that have already been cleaned, disinfected, and sterilized - it cannot sterilize or disinfect items that are entered into the system unclean.
