Daifuku Celebrates 70 Years In The Material Handling Industry

Company Marks Milestone With Record Sales, Corporate Portal Launch,

Salt Lake City – This year marks the 70th anniversary of Daifuku, www.daifuku.com, a company that engineers and manufacturers high quality automated material handling and warehouse management systems to streamline processes and improve productivity

Daifuku has built its business and reputation on the philosophy that production and procurement should take place near the customers. It is the company’s goal that customers always have access to local, knowledgeable company representatives who can proficiently serve their needs. As a result of that goal and philosophy more than half of Daifuku’s record-breaking sales last year occurred outside of Japan.

“Demand in the U.S. and Europe has steadily increased over the past few years, proving these countries to be very important markets for Daifuku,” stated Nobo Morita, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Daifuku America’s Factory Automation & Distribution Automation division. “With engineering, project management and design capabilities available within the company, we are positioned to offer our customers the ability to not only solve problems but help them take advantage of opportunities in the marketplace.”

Japan-based Daifuku operates more than 150 global offices, branches, subsidiaries and manufacturing facilities around the globe. In the U.S., the Salt Lake City office will continue to perform engineering, sales, project management and design functions for factory automation and distribution automation. The Reynoldsburg, Ohio office, which has focused on providing automobile factory automation, will be expanding its operations to now offer factory automation and distribution automation equipment.

Daifuku has also recently re-launched their corporate portal, www.daifuku.com. The portal offers a comprehensive view into the world of Daifuku and the history of the global material handling industry and details Daifuku’s offerings that are used by the automotive, electronics, manufacturing, distribution and cleanroom industries worldwide. To complement the corporate portal, Daifuku’s global affiliates will launch channel sites toward the end of 2007.

To commemorate its anniversary, Daifuku announces its new corporate dictum, “Material Handling and Beyond.” The motto represents the company’s goal to continue providing superior material handling and to pursue the company’s vision of continuing to advance the world’s material handling technology.
