[Basic Policy] Establishing a Quality Management System
Our basic policy regarding quality, cost and delivery is to create products with the best quality, delivered on time, at costs appropriate for the technology and with outstanding safety, and incorporating the latest technology, providing our customers with 100% satisfaction.
Daifuku will establish a Quality Management System (QMS).
Daifuku will use our management resources to make continual improvements.
(1) Daifuku will conduct a Quality Effect Evaluation and improve our process.
We will set goals for each process, measure progress, and evaluate goals using quantitative indexes.
(2) Daifuku will respond to customer demands, measure customer satisfaction, and continually improve our products.
We will examine customer satisfaction by tallying and analyzing evaluation responses.

Using a quality management system based on ISO 9001 as stipulated by the International Organization for Standardization, Daifuku guarantees quality at every stage of planning, sales, design, manufacturing, installation and service.

History
| 1995 | Electronics Control Department becomes the first department in Daifuku to obtain ISO 9001 certification. Other departments follows suit, and in 1996, the Production Related Departments at the Komaki and Shiga Works obtained their certifications. Daifuku has since worked to integrate the acquired certifications on a per-works basis, and to obtain certifications beyond production departments and at the subsidiary level. |

Our quality management system is consistent throughout the company. This system requires senior management to make continuous improvements to our operations. Through ISO, Daifuku strives to improve quality, gain customer trust, and provide quality products.
Contec Co., Ltd., which produces and sells electronics, also obtained certification in 1995 indicating how companies owned by Daifuku also strive to improve quality.
Quality Management System
Since 2002, Daifuku has sponsored an internal task forces to overcome quality challenges as cross-departmental issues arise at Komaki and Shiga Works.
Also, Daifuku holds periodic ISO steering committee meetings to ensure quality and report on activities. Twice a year management reviews evaluate the content of the operation plans for each department and quality task force.

Certifications obtained globally
Since 2006, Daifuku Japan has encouraged our overseas factories to obtain ISO certifications.
Certification has been obtained in North America (Daifuku America), South Korea (Clean Factomation, Inc., MIMATS Co., Ltd.), China (Jiangsu Daifuku Rixin Automation Co., Ltd., Shanghai Contec Microelectronics Corp.), and Thailand (Daifuku (Thailand) Ltd.).
Worldwide Skills Competition
Daifuku has hosted skills competitions in the welding, assembly and measurement fields to improve skills in manufacturing plants. In 2006, the seventh annual competition featured the competition's first global event that included 24 participants from the United States, South Korea, China and Thailand. Daifuku will continue to host the competition in an effort to create a strong global brand that can provide the same quality of service from any factory in the world.

A unique training system
The Daifuku Manufacturing And Design System (D-MAND) is Daifuku's systemized method of manufacturing. Overseas staff attends seminars and hands-on training to gain experience with D-MAND, projected and implemented by its specialized affiliate.
Employee teamwork contests
Daifuku is committed to employee collaboration and encourages improvements in group skills. To develop skills, we host two group presentation contests each year.
Daifuku management nominates the winning teams for Japan's Creative Merit Award from the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology to heighten employee motivation.
Process certification
Daifuku has undergone an audit to evaluate and certify our entire manufacturing processes (internal and external), with the aim of eliminating environmentally-toxic substances from Daifuku's products.
