Corporate Contribution
Daifuku installs logistics systems for factories and distribution centers worldwide. Many of our installations benefit social infrastructure, supporting industries and global trade. The following are examples of Daifuku's contributions.
Maintaining and Improving Order and Security
Vertical Carrousel - automatic rotating shelf with fingerprint authentication
The fingerprint authentication Vertical Carrousel prevents the loss and theft of items that require strict storage management, such as valuables like vouchers and prepaid cards as well as toxic or dangerous substances. The shutter is locked and unlocked using fingerprint authentication. Registered individuals use their fingerprints for access, eliminating concerns over lost keys or pass code theft.
Providing Solutions for the Community
Wheelchair lift for care vehicles & bike parking
Since 1997, Daifuku has supplied wheelchair lifts to mount on care vehicles. Additionally, Daifuku's bicycle parking tower Cycle House 21, employs a simple and safe storage structure that is easily used by children and elderly citizens.
Encouraging Community Involvement
The pick-to-light Digital Pick System (DPS)
The DPS enables workers to pick items identified by displays mounted on shelves. The system eliminates the error of picking the wrong item or amount. It also helps workers easily locate items and is easy for all employees to use.
Ensuring Food Safety
Traceability products
Responding to growing consumer demand for product safety, suppliers of food and medical products are increasingly interested in product traceability. Daifuku is addressing the problem by assigning information such as the date of manufacture and lot number to bring traceability to these records and to provide the ability to respond rapidly in instances like recalls. Today, RFID, or radio frequency ID tag, is emerging as an alternative to barcodes for recording information. Daifuku has participated in RFID research since installing its first traceability-compatible system in 2001.
Maintaining and Improving Physical Health
Level Cart
The Level Cart maintains the worktable at a constant height even when the weight or amount of items changes eliminating back strain and providing a comfortable work environment. A unique leveling mechanism keeps the work height at the initially set level, even when items are added or removed. The level cart does not use motors or hydraulics and requires little maintenance. This worker-friendly cart has application from factories to cafeterias.
Achieving a Community Less Susceptible to Natural Disasters
Seismic isolated rack
In earthquake-prone Japan, quake-resistance measures are required for automatic warehouses. Daifuku upholds a strong commitment to developing quake-resistance technology.
Damage caused by objects falling from their stored locations is common during major earthquakes such as the Great Hanshin Earthquake prompting demand for risk-minimizing products. At the LOGIS-TECH TOKYO 2006 trade show, Daifuku introduced a seismic isolated rack structure, currently under development.
Improving the Environment Around Train Stations
Cycle House 21, a multilevel bicycle parking system
Bicycles parked near train stations cause major community issues. Bikes block traffic and detract from the scenery, and local governments incur the cost of removing them. Land prices around the stations tend to be high, making it difficult to secure the large sites required for conventional parking lots, and bicycle theft continues unabated.
To enable efficient bicycle parking in a small, secure space, Daifuku developed an automated bicycle parking tower called Cycle House 21. The user-friendly system uses an IC card, which is safe and easy to use.
Promoting Sports
Bowling machines and related equipment
Daifuku has provided products for the bowling industry for over 40 years. Bowling is a healthy and popular sport with established demand. Daifuku promotes this low-cost activity by sponsoring community competitions.
