In 1975, Contec became an independent company from Daifuku. Since then, Contec specialized in developing electronics, a core Daifuku business. Products range from measurement tools, controls, computer boards, industrial computers to software.

Contec has been developing software to measure the power generated from solar energy since 1994. The Company contributes to measures against global warming by providing systems that measure the operational status of solar power generation. The systems also display the amounts of energy generated, solar radiation and conversion efficiency on large displays for easy viewing.

Contec has contributed to the introduction of IT in hospital equipment, such as the wireless LAN, since 1999. In recent years, the Company sustains development in the medical field by providing bedside terminals that help connect healthcare and nursing support to hospital information networks. The terminals also allow patients to watch TV and browse the Internet.
